Nothing could be easier than this refreshing and healthy frozen berry yogurt treat with minimal prep time for kids to make and enjoy this summer.

This frozen treat is an ideal healthy dessert to indulge in after meals and a perfect treat to enjoy after school or as an evening snack. The best part is that you can incorporate more fruits and make fussy kids eat their healthy food.

This is a fun bite size recipe for kids to try with minimal adult assistance. They will love putting colourful muffin cases into each mould of tin, spooning in yogurt mixture and topping each one with fruits.

I bet once kids try these frozen berry yogurt bites, they’ll get addicted to it and are sure to admire their creation.

Ingredients

  • Yogurt: I have used plain yogurt, but you can use flavoured yogurt such as strawberry or vanilla.
  • Fruits: fresh strawberries, blueberries and blackberries are used in this recipe. You can use any other berries
  • Sweetener: I have used maple syrup, but you can substitute it with honey, agave syrup or any other sweetener you prefer.
  • Spices: Cinnamon is used to infuse a warm flavour.

Step By Step Instructions

Step 1: In a bowl, combine yogurt, maple syrup and cinnamon. Check the taste and add more sweetener if required.

Step 2: Set it aside to use later.

Step 3: Place cupcake cases into each mould of the cupcake baking pan.

Step 4: Spoon the prepared yogurt mixture into the cases.

Step 5: Top each cupcake case with a blueberry, a blackberry and a slice of strawberry.

Step 6: Place the pan in the freezer for up to 5-6 hours.

Enjoy the delicious and healthy frozen berry yogurt bites anytime. Store the remaining in the freezer.

Storage

Once the berry yogurt bites are frozen, transfer them into an airtight container or a resealable freezer bag. You can store them for up to 2 months.

Tips and Tricks

Yogurt:Full-fat plain yogurt is the best option as it gives a rich, smooth texture.

Berries: Use fresh berries that are in season for the best flavour.

Silicone Cases: Use reusable silicone cases as they are easier to pop out the frozen bites.

Mini Treat: Use mini cupcake cases and a tin to make it a bite-sized treat and easy for young kids to hold and enjoy.

Ingredients

1 Cup = 250ml ; 1 tablespoon = 15ml ; 1 Teaspoon = 5ml

  • 400 gms Plain Yogurt
  • 3 Tablespoons Maple Syrup adjust to your taste
  • ½ Teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 5-6 Strawberries wash and slice
  • 24 Blueberries wash
  • 24 Blackberries wash
