Kachumber raita recipe | Kachumber salad raita


Kachumber raita ingredients:

Full-fat thick curd or yogurt – 1 cup

Milk – 1/4 cup

Chopped red onion – 1/4 cup

Chopped tomato – 1/4 cup

Chopped cucumber – 1/2 cup

Coriander leaves – 1 tbsp

Mint leaves – A few

Lemon – 1 tbsp

Green chili – 1 finely chopped (optional)

Salt to taste

Spice powder:

Red chili powder – A pinch

Cumin or Jeera powder – A pinch

Black pepper powder – A pinch

Tips:

1. Optional veggies – Shredded beetroot, radish, cabbage, carrot, and capsicum can also be added.

2. Spice powders are adjusted as per taste.

3. Fresh curd works best for raita. You can use desi dahi or greek yogurt for raita.

4. Whip the curd nicely for smooth and creamy raita.

How to make kachumber raita:

1. Whisk the dahi/yogurt and milk in a bowl.

2. Toss the chopped veggies, cilantro, and mint leaves in a whisked yogurt.

3. Add the spice powders, lemon juice, and salt to taste.

4. Mix it well and keep it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.

5. Garnish with finely chopped coriander leaves and serve chilled with pulao, biryani, or roti.
